Flicker Spancon
After reading a post from Tech & Learning regarding a teacher using Flickr to teach Spanish vocabulary, I decided to check it out. The teacher created an account at Flickr, had students take pictures of over 500 objects, then he posted the photos up to Flickr and categorized the photos. You can access the photos to use with your students by going to Flickr (Spancon). The explanations for how to search Flickr for his photos is explained in the blog article.

Lots of Interactive Games
The site was developed by Manchester Metropolitan University. Even though many games are referencing a specific set of French textbooks, the games are useful to anyone learning French who has in interactive whiteboard. Games include Tic-Tac-Toe, Millionaire, Flashcards, Word Search, Spelling Test, Hangman, Matching Game, and Memory Game. There is also a Spanish site.

Best Languages Websites

Webmaster, Jim Becker, Professor Emeritus, University of Northern Iowa has a website that links to websites he has created for Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Italian, Hebrew, Arabic, Hindi, Bengali, Portuguese, German, TESOL/ESL and Latin. Each website is loaded with links that will assist students and teachers. Great ideas for IWB. His websites are heralded as 5-star websites.

Practice Spanish, French, Italian, or German. Includes some online games. To get an idea of the site, look at the example of one of the games below. In this game, the student inserts the missing vowels.
